A New Experience

As you have probably noticed, most of my blogs involve travelling around the UK, experiencing new places and attending academic conferences.

This time around it was Liverpool’s turn.

I went to Liverpool to attend the British Psychological Society Annual Conference where I made an oral presentation about my second study of my PhD research project.

So, it was a win-win for me. Being able to learn something new academically and discover a new city.

The conference itself was amazing. I got to do an oral presentation, the other presentations were very interesting and the keynote speakers very engaging.

Apart from these elements, it was really good fun to attend the conference with another fellow PhD student.

The city itself was amazing too. It has a very large shopping area, relaxing restaurants near the waterfront and museums for those interested in acquiring more general knowledge.

I decided against both and, for the first time, I decided to visit Liverpool stadium instead.

I surprised even myself as I am more into cultural places and events but I guess a change is more than welcomed once in a while.

Liverpool stadium represented an unexpected amazing experience as I was able to take part in a one hour guided tour.

For me, it was great to understand better how a stadium operates and what the challenges of managing it are.

I highly recommend visiting it even if you are not a Liverpool supporter.
