Sooooo…. I’m here!!
It is simply amazing here. We flew from LAX into Auckland and all I could feel was the excitement radiating through my body.
We had Arcadia’s orientation and I met a ton of new, awesome people that I know I will become close with over this semester. We then drove down to Rotorua and went to the hot springs and to see the geyser.
We also went Zorbing (check out the image at the top of the page!)… that was nuts!
The second day, we went to a Maori village and my new friends decided that I was going to be the designated chief of the group. This experience was amazing because I had to be welcomed into the village by picking up the token of peace offered from their chief to let them know I didn’t want to declare war against them.
I also had to lead my group in song to show respect. I, of course, was very into this and I am very grateful that I was offered that opportunity.
We then flew down to Wellington and then down to Dunedin! My home for the next 5 months! It is amazing here. I am having the time of my life already. I have made new friends and have managed to become close to a few already.
